🚀 FOLLOW-ON INVESTMENT 🚀
We’re proud to announce that our portfolio company QuantWare has raised a $178M/€152M Series B, the largest private round raised by a dedicated quantum processor company to date. The round includes new investors ETF Partners - The Environmental Technologies Fund, Intel Capital, and IQT, alongside existing investors, including Graduate Ventures, FORWARD.one, Invest-NL Deep Tech Fund and Ground State Ventures.
Graduate Ventures first invested in QuantWare during its pre-seed round, and we are proud to continue supporting the team in this next phase of growth.
Why we invest - Quantum computing has the potential to solve problems that are impossible for classical computers, but the industry still faces a major scaling challenge. QuantWare is addressing one of the most important bottlenecks in the quantum value chain: building quantum processors that can be manufactured, integrated, and scaled industrially.
Market - The market for quantum computing is very big and developing rapidly. QuantWare is already serving more than 50 customers across 20 countries, including major global technology players, quantum computing companies, and national technology institutes.
Technology - QuantWare’s proprietary VIO™ technology is a modular quantum processor architecture designed to enable the world’s most powerful QPUs. With the recently announced VIO-40K™, QuantWare is working towards 10,000-qubit processors, 100x larger than the current state of the art. The company is also building KiloFab, the world’s largest dedicated quantum open architecture fab, based in the Netherlands.
Team - Built on prior research from QuTech, QuantWare combines deep scientific expertise with the ambition to build a global compute hardware company. Under the leadership of Matthijs (Matt) Rijlaarsdam, Alessandro Bruno, and the wider team, QuantWare has grown into the largest provider of commercial QPUs globally.A major milestone for QuantWare, the Dutch deeptech ecosystem, and Europe’s role in the future of compute.
